As President and CEO, Karen has over 25 years experience in the legal community, with 15 years in the legal staffing industry. A graduate of Hofstra University and Brooklyn Law School, Karen practiced commercial litigation with two large New York law firms, most recently, at Thacher, Proffitt & Wood. After leaving private practice, Karen ran national sales and marketing for, and was the Senior Vice President of, two of the country's largest national legal staffing firms. She has also provided business development and marketing consulting services to legal service providers around the country. Karen was on the board of the National Association of Women Business Owners, Los Angeles, and is the author of a cookbook titled,Culinary Justice - A Cookbook for People who Can't Stomach Lawyers.

As Director of Synergy's South Florida office, Alana has a law degree from the University of Miami School of Law and a bachelor's degree from Howard University. After practicing as a prosecutor and civil lawyer, Alana became the Director of the Career Services offices for both the University of Miami School of School of Law and St. Thomas University School of Law respectively. She is also a member of several civic and voluntary bar associations in South Florida.

National Director of Recruiting and Director of Synergy's Charlotte office, Kirsten is originally from Charleston, South Carolina, and obtained a BA in Sociology and MS in Applied Sociology from Clemson University. Prior to joining Synergy, Kirsten gained legal experience as a paralegal with Motley, Rice f/k/a Ness, Motley, Loadholt, Richardson and Poole in Charleston and as a research analyst with the Maryland Administrative Office of the Courts in Annapolis, Maryland. She has also worked through Synergy on a large real-estate related project upon relocating to Charlotte.

As Director of Synergy's Houston, TX and Raleigh, NC offices, Melissa brings extensive legal staffing experience to her position. Melissa graduated from University of Houston Law Center and began her legal career as an associate with a large downtown law firm, Winstead, Sechrest and Minick where she practiced commercial litigation for 6 years. She left the practice of law to open the Houston office for the Wallace Law Registry, which is now known as Kelly Services. Melissa eventually left Kelly Services to raise her three children. She is thrilled to come back into the world of legal staffing.

Director of Synergy's Chicago office, Krissy is originally from Rock Island, Illinois, and obtained a JD and MS in Sports Administration from St. Thomas University and a BS in Psychology from the University of Illinois. Prior to joining Synergy, Krissy practiced as a family law attorney and also spent considerable time working on various document review projects in the Chicago market, thus gaining first-hand knowledge on how the legal staffing industry operates. When she is not working Krissy enjoys playing recreational sports, watching sports, and traveling to warm destinations.

Lesley Morgan, Director of Synergy's London office and EU operations, received her law degree from Thames Valley University and is a UK qualified lawyer. She has practiced law with various London law firms and was in-house at HCA International. She was most recently with The General Medical Council. Lesley is also a qualified nurse and has founded and run a number of businesses, including two schools. Now her children have (mostly) flown the nest, she has time to enjoy her hobbies of reading, walking, tennis and entertaining. Lesley is learning to enjoy sailing again, but has given up all hope of mastering the art of bicycle riding!

Director of Synergy's New York office, Matt is originally from Long Island, NY and obtained a BA in English and Education from Florida State University. Prior to joining Synergy, Matt had a long and distinguished career as a legal journalist, having worked for American Lawyer Media, Court TV and the Las Vegas Sun and covering the U.S. Supreme Court, among other things. He has also dabbled in film production work, and is a rabid fan of the New York Jets, Mets, Knicks and Florida State Seminoles.
